A Note from Me

Most of you know a little about my story, and some of you don't.
I lost over 100 pounds by making one small change at a time. I wasn't trying to change everything overnight. I'd focus on one habit until it became part of my life, then I'd build on it.

After pregnancy, I gained 40 pounds, which was completely expected. I thought losing the weight while nursing would happen naturally, but that hasn't been my experience. If I'm being honest, it's been humbling.
I'm still on this journey right alongside many of you. I'm still figuring out what works for this season of life, making adjustments, trying new systems, and learning when it's time to shift my focus. That's one of the reasons I wanted to write this newsletter. I don't want to pretend I've arrived.
I'm living this work too.
About five months ago, our family's schedule changed dramatically. I didn't lose my routine, but I needed a new one. As a health coach, that was frustrating. I know the tools. I teach the tools. Yet there I was trying different strategies, adjusting my schedule, and searching for a new rhythm.
For this season, stress management needed more of my attention. My husband stepped in and took over most of the cooking, which was an incredible gift. While I was focusing on reducing stress, I was still working toward my other goals, just in a different way.
As life settled into a new rhythm, I realized I was ready for another shift. Over the last month, I've found myself back in the kitchen meal prepping again, not because I'm chasing weight loss, but because I missed the process. I love grocery shopping with a plan, cooking, and opening the refrigerator knowing nourishing meals are ready to go.
For me, that isn't just nutrition. It's stress management. When I'm prepared, I feel calmer, make decisions with less effort, have more energy, and feel more like myself.
One of the biggest lessons I've learned is that our habits don't compete with one another. They support each other. I wasn't abandoning my nutrition goals while focusing on stress management. I was building the foundation that allowed me to come back to them.
Maybe that's what balance really is.
Not giving every area of wellness equal attention every day, but understanding that life will ask different things of us at different times.
The foundation stays. The focus shifts.
