A Note from Me
I’ve been spending more time connecting with people in the wedding industry, and this week I had a lovely conversation with Molly Gregor, who has become a good friend of mine.
It got me thinking about the people we turn to when we need guidance, and how much it matters who we ask.

Because let’s be honest, there is no shortage of opinions when you’re planning a wedding.
“You have to invite them.”
“You’re doing that with your hair?”
“Well, at our wedding, we…”
And suddenly, you’re defending a decision you were excited about five minutes ago.
Most people mean well. They’re sharing what they love, what worked for them, or what they wish they had done differently. But you’re the one trying to fit all those suggestions into your budget, your schedule, and the day you and your partner actually want.
This happens with wellness, too. Mention that you want more energy or that you’re working on your health, and everyone has a routine, a product, or a food you should apparently never eat again.
Before taking on another suggestion, it helps to ask: “Do I actually want this, or do I feel like I’m supposed to?”
And when you do need guidance, having someone who understands the process can be such a relief.
That’s why I wanted to introduce you to Molly. She’s the founder of Weddingfile.com and former editor of New Jersey Bride. If you’re planning a wedding, I highly, highly recommend joining Molly’s New Jersey Wedding Insiders. It’s a community where you can ask questions, get vendor recommendations, and find advice throughout the planning process.
She also runs Mothers of the Bride & Groom in NJ, so share that with your mom or future mother-in-law if she would enjoy a community of her own. This is a big season for them, too!
You don’t have to figure everything out yourself. But your own wishes deserve a place in the conversation.
